About the Author Valerie Charbeneau has been an elementary school teacher and librarian for thirteen years. During this time, she has worked with thousands of students from Pre- Kinder to 5th grade on numerous research projects. She's used the Big6 research model, developed by Michael Eisenberg and Robert Berkowitz, with 2nd-5th grade students and incorporated the "Big6 Rap" into project lessons to help them remember the process steps. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Texas, San Antonio, a Library Media Specialist Certification from University of Texas, Austin, and a Masters Degree in Education from Houston Baptist University. Valerie now works as a writer and publisher for Creative Alliance Press. Her new book, Rappin' Ronni, Research Rat (Creative Alliance Press, 2005) from which the Big6 Rap originated, will be available in June 2005. An author visit schedule will be available soon. She is currently available for workshop presentations on integrated library programs for elementary school. Valerie currently resides in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, Michael, and her Great Dane, Belle. |
